Principal's Message

Principal

Dear Mike Moses Middle School Students and Families,

I am honored to introduce myself, Stephen Autrey, as the new principal at Mike Moses Middle School for the 2017-2018 school year. My love for education and ensuring the success of all students has been formed over the past 26 years as a math teacher, a coach, an instructional specialist, an assistant principal, and principal all over Texas. In each of my roles, I have sought to safeguard our school’s and our students’ success by providing the best instructional and extracurricular opportunities and supports I can.

I have made it my priority at Mike Moses that every student receives the best possible education by providing outstanding instruction from top-notch teachers, as well as opportunities outside the classroom that help students to develop character, nurture interests, and explore the world around them. When considering the opportunities available to students, I revisit my own experiences as a student who was involved in athletics and clubs, and I desire even more for my students. We will facilitate our success and our work by increasing communication with all Mike Moses stakeholders. We encourage everyone to look for our weekly newsletters and communications on social media! (Like and follow our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/mikemosesms/).

As the principal at Mike Moses Middle School, I am dedicated to ensuring that we all work together to do what’s best for our students and that we meet their needs. Excellence in education cannot be achieved without the great collaboration of students, parents, and staff. During this summer, I have had the privilege of getting to know some of the community members in Nacogdoches ISD, while also learning about the school’s history and successes. I have been impressed with the enthusiasm and pride in this school and community, and I look forward to becoming an integral part of it with my own family and working with each of you to increase our success in both Nacogdoches ISD and Mike Moses Middle School. I am excited about this great year ahead of us! Never hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, and ideas that you would like to discuss.

Warm regards,

Stephen Autrey
