Because Nice Matters

Nacogdoches ISD believes that we all can make the choice to be nice to others.

During the 2013-14 year, we will be focusing on one character trait each month:

  • September 2013 - Courage
  • October 2013 - Honor
  • November 2013 - Wisdom
  • December 2013 - Joy
  • January 2014 - Knowledge
  • February 2014 - Courtesy
  • March 2014 - Forgiveness
  • April 2014 - Humility – Tell us why humility is important!
  • May 2014 - Endurance

Please join us in our effort to make Nacogdoches an even nicer place to live, work and study!

Mike Moses teacher named American History Teacher of Year for Texas

Nacogdoches ISD’s Secondary Teacher of the Year has added a statewide recognition to his list of accolades.

Eric Ewing, a history teacher at Mike Moses Middle School, was named the 2013-14 Daughters of the American Revolution Outstanding American History Teacher of the Year for Texas.

“I am honored, flattered, and extremely excited,” he said. “I am not the best teacher in Texas, but it’s pretty cool that someone thinks I’m in a class with the best teachers.”

The DAR honors “notable, full-time teachers of American history and related fields such as social studies, government and citizenship education) in public, private and parochial schools, grades 6-12.”
